CFB Trenton, Ont - The bodies of three Canadian soldiers killed in Afghanistan this week are to return home Saturday.

Sapper Stephan Stock, Cpl. Dustin Wasden and Sgt. Shawn Eades died Wednesday when a roadside bomb exploded outside their armoured vehicle.

Gov. Gen. Michaelle Jean, Defence Minister Peter MacKay and Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Walter Natynczyk will be on hand at CFB Trenton in eastern Ontario to pay their respects.

All three fallen soldiers were with 12 Field Squadron, 1 Combat Engineer Regiment based out of Edmonton.

With their deaths, 93 Canadian soldiers have died during the Afghan mission since it began in 2002.

I'm a far left fanatic on sabatical. Cornelious is right. Americans shipped hundreds of tons of weapons and ammunition into Afghanistan each year in the 1980s to help the Mojahadeen repel the Russians. Many of those weapons are now being aimed at us. Gwnne Dyer studied every conflict for the last 1000 years. He is a master war analyst. He says get out of Afghanistan. Harper is sacrificing young Canadian soldiers with families as a favor to the most hated man on Earth (Bush).

Has anyone noticed that the majority of the anti-military comments are made during the day? Is that because most of these far left fanatics are unemployed? Maybe it’s because school is out for the summer.

Watching fro, for the record it was the Liberals who sent our troops there. In fact had they not sat on the fence for so long waiting for political correctness we would still be deployed in the relatively safe Northern districts. Don't lay this at the feet of the current PM. The blame lies with Mr Dithers.

Cornelious, before you open your mouth to repeat without thought the tripe rattled off by the NDP I suggest you do a little research. There are many programs and scholarships not to mention pensions for the remaining families. Your pervious comment was worth my review and even a discussion but with the second uneducated rant you closed the door to conversation.

lesson learned, History will show the Americans were helping the terrorist against Russian invassion of Afghanistan. are we so naive to think they wont help the same ones that we did, they lost over 30,000 soldiers in their war, how many will we loose before we are beaten out? or are we just as stupid as the Russians?
